(AP) Bush holds veto pen over stem cell bill

(WashPost) Senate Passes Stem Cell Bill; Bush Vows Veto

(WashPost) Don’t Veto, Mr. President: On stem cells, do as Thomas Jefferson would have done.

The first veto of Bush’s presidency and he wields it for idiocy, ensuring that not only will other countries rush past us in stem cell biotechnology, but that Americans will die because the souls of unborn fetuses were more important than viable lives…

BTW, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is a real hoot. I always enjoy Johnny Depp, the actor’s actor of his generation–who’d’a thunk it 15 years ago? A minor quibble–Davy Jones, aptly described by one reviewer as a Glaswegian Cthulhoid, should actually be a Welshman–hey, we be talking Bristol pirates who named the briney Davy Jones’ Locker, not Scotsmen. I kept expecting him to threaten Captain Jack Sparrrrrrrowwww with a vicious, bloodthirsty rabbit with big teeth LOL

UPDATE: (AP) Bush vetoes stem cell bill as promised
