So here we are with the last of the Dodos. Which one is the bigger Dodo, Sarah Palin, who thinks that real Americans ‘tolerate’ homosexuals, want victims of incest or rape to have children they had no choice in conceiving, think evolution is just some silly scientific fiction, don’t want blacks, latinos or poor whites to vote, and think that other Americans who disagree with them should be called terrorists and murdered (at least until the librul media found out about it and then she said she wouldn’t tolerate that kind of talk after smiling at it all last week), or John McCain, who chose this bigot as his running mate and now has to make believe he’s “proud” of her so he can ride on HER coattails. DRILL, BABY, DRILL! I always assumed that REAL Americans were not only “tolerant” but proud of our national diversity. Guess I just haven’t spent enough time at the strip mall.
Congratulations to Colin Powell for having come to his senses, realizing he no longer has to follow orders.
Exonerated? Does Sarah Palin even know what that means? Or maybe she thinks that people are talking about that white-wash “report” the RNC put out? (AP) Palin pre-empts state report, clears self in probe Clearing yourself of wrongdoing is like forgiving yourself for hurting someone…it doesn’t really mean a helluva lot. (Reuters) Palin says report says she acted lawfully. In other words, she had the power to fire someone, but “The investigator wrote in the report that, `I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating” a statute of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act, which bars any official action to benefit a personal interest. Violation of the ethics act could result in sanctions, including up to $5,000 in civil fines by a state ethics board, according to the law.” I guess unless you’re found guilty of a CRIME, Sarah Palin would say you were exonerated completely, since it was only a civil, not a criminal offense. I’m beginning to think that some of these politicians really do need a good whuppin’ from their parents. They obviously didn’t get one while they were brats…
It was obviously politically motivated — hoo boy!
Richard Fuld, CEO of the bankrupted Lehman Brothers, disputed the figure that Henry Waxman came up with. It wasn’t $480,000,000 that he received over the last 7 years at Lehman Bros. It was really closer to $310 million. WTF? What in God’s name is anybody going to do with over 300 million dollars? Buy a palace? Does anyone remember waaaaaaaayyyy back when a million dollars was a LOT of money? Back in the 50s I think. Probably until the price of gold floated. Now it’s chicken feed. If you don’t have a million in the bank, you’d better not retire. Making a million a year? Upper middle class. And at the same time people are making these ungodly obscene amounts of money–for driving a respected firm into bankruptcy–there are entire families in these United States that are trying to make do with under $15,000 a year. That’s thousands. A million times LESS than the billions that are now the marker of wealth.
And do you want to know what this asshole Fuld was doing? As the Titanic was sinking? He was making sure that the executives got their full multi-million dollar salaries before bankruptcy was to be declared.keep looking »
