(AP) Republicans to Go on Offensive Over Judges

When I was in grade school, we were told that the difference between a democracy and totalitarianism was single party rule. Lemme see, the Republicans have the Congress, the Presidency…they own the voting machine companies and control the voting process. Now they want to take away the one chance a minority party has to oppose the appointment of a federal judgeship. Sounds to me like democracy is about to slip away from the very country that first instituted the modern democratic government.

In another note, a serious situation outside the US has come to our attention. A young Australian woman has been falsely accused of attempting to smuggle marijuana into Indonesia (dontshootschapelle.com). The facts of the case are given on the website I have just referenced. If convicted, she could face death by firing squad. I urge everyone who reads this blog to look at the facts and if you agree that Schapelle Corby is being railroaded into a false conviction, as I think she is, that you go and sign an online petition to free Schapelle Corby and help do something to prevent this ghastly injustice. Thanks.
