Will He Or Won’t He? Only Dick Cheney Knows For Sure
OK everyone knows by now that Scooter Libby got 30 months for perjury and obstructing justice. That his lawyers moved to delay carrying out the sentence, which the judge is not in a mind to do, but a host of legal scholars have argued that the serving the sentence be delayed until the appeal has been heard. These scholars includied Alan Dershowitz of the famous Claus von Bulow trial. A self-proclaimed liberal, according to Wikipedia, he has remarkably supported the administration in the Iraq war and in the use of torture, probably because of the threat to Israel, which was non-existent since Iraq didn’t possess any weapons of mass destruction. To say that Dershowitz has conflicting interests in this case–the rights of the convicted vs. protecting an administration lackey–would be a fair assessment.
In the meantime, I decided to give Scooter a cellmate also waiting for the phone. I’ve done him in manga style, with wind-swept white hair that usually signifies a person of indeterminate sexuality. 🙂
Why’s Bob Novak In The Dress? Well, We All Know He’s SOMEBODY’S Bitch

(Wash Post) Novak Says He Named 3 Sources in Leak Case
Well, this isn’t gonna go far…We’ll see a move to quash based on the fact that the VP shouldn’t be sued “during wartime” to distinguish the motion from the reason why Bill Clinton could be sued. They’ll delay any proceedings by appeals up the chain of courts until they finally hit the Bush appointee who makes it go away. As long as no one was under oath, they can’t be hit with perjury charges, the only form of lying Republicans admit is wrong…when someone ELSE does it. Bob Novak is still portraying himself as the heroic defender of First Amendment rights while he is the lowest sycophant to crawl in a newsroom. The least he could’ve done was given a colorful codename to his stoolie. As Jon Stewart pointed out, no Deep Throat for Mr. Combover…

Well, there you have it…another Karl Rove engineered leak. This article: (Truthout) Karl Rove Indicted on Charges of Perjury, Lying to Investigators was the talk of the blogosphere a month ago. Everyone kept waiting and waiting for Rove to finally get a comuppance, but as more and more time went by, the less likely it looked that it would happen. Now it’s official. Whenever there’s a leak regarding Karl Rove, the safest assumption is that the source of the leak is Karl himself and the question always is, what strategem is he playing? This time, I think he was trying to force the issue of indictment or non-indictment. If indictment, then he could operate without the THREAT of indictment over his head. If non-indictment, he could spin it so he would appear truthful. In fact, that’s exactly how Pete Yost (AP Analysis: Telling FBI the Truth Saved Rove) is reporting it. We here at HAIL DUBYUS! were dubious about the indictment story to start with. In the meantime, El Presidente zipped into Baghdad, told the puppet al-Maliki we were standing behind him, took a few photos and zipped out again. If you blinked, you missed it.
